Reasonable percentage to the original creator?

I'm wondering what a reasonable percentage is to the original creator.

My situation is that I am gonna try to make my first app of a simple jumping game that already has been done *in Java* years ago to the Sony Ericsson mobile phones. The game is free. I asked the original creator if I could use the same name and sprites and he said if I'm gonna publish it on appstore he would want a net percentage of it.

Thanks

    hi...

I would ask first....let the creator tell you....then suggest at least 50%.....then get a lawyer....to draw the deal up..

It's a really simply made game with not more than 10 sprites and not much coding but it went kind of popular because of the highscoring

titles aren't copyright... though some may be trademarked
so you can usually get away with slight alteration or addition to another title.
so think as Tshirtbooth said.... 15% for 10 sprites and title simularity.

if you do all your own coding... the original maker should be happy getting something like that from something he released as free...
