My 30th Birthday Project by AppChogie

Hi guys just to share something different. I have taken a break from games to work on my 30th Birthday project. I am building a mini arcade machine that is a Nintendo GameCube. I have ordered a GameCube from ebay with a 5' screen and battery pack.

I have been designing the cab for a few days now and here is what I have from concept to 3D render.

    Do you have a hideous portrait hidden in the attic or something??? ;)

    Looks like a fun little project - would love to see your progress on this!

    I know mate I make 30 look good! That cake is awesome Tetris Tea Cake lol.

    I have wanted an arcade machine forever and I haven't modded anything in ages so I figure a GameCube is safest bet as its small etc. If it works and looks good then I will make a Xbox 360 one. This will be a bar top machine about 500cm height aprox.

    I saw a kit for an iPad but I'm past midlife crisys .... LOL

    Btw: Happy 40 and don't forget earphones unless you enjoy listen to you naggin wife ... Like I just had to. Sundays ....

    lol thanks I am 30 tho ;-) however mid life crisys is properly the right term.

    awesome. i have a mame arcade custom built by me :p granted i built it when i was 17 but i been updating it since. its my pride n joy :)
    i can play wii games in 1080p thanks to the emu. obviously i have backups of games i own. playing redsteel 2 in 1080p is simply stunning, soon i should be playing ios games :p

    cant wait to see your finished product! gamecube was way underrated :/

    Thanks guys I will keep you all posted on its progress, its is being C&C routed now and I can start assembly tonight by putting on the beam rods.

    The process has been given a week of 100% concentration so this time next week I hope to be playing it. As an added bonus I am going to hack the console to run a few emulators to expand the retro games from nintendo.
