How can I sync iPhone to new computer without losing everything

I didn't have my own laptop yet, so I had my iPhone synced to my sister's computer. Her computer crashed and lost everything on it, and I just got a PowerBook G4 and want to sync my phone to it. Will I lose all my music and pictures off my phone if I sync to the new computer? Is there a way to sync and not lose everything? Thanks in advance.

You my try some hack or maybe they have a program for it now otherwise your SOL
If you bought it all from iTunes you might be able to download again for free
You'll also need to authorize the new computer

I did this. There are Mac to Mac instructions and Mac to pc. Works like a charm. I would do a transfer purchases first before doing a full sync.

Sync is the most retarded invention, just use drag and drop. Drag pics and song and apps to "(yourname) iphone" section on the left side if iTunes. Make sure u click "manage manually" on the device settings in iTunes too.

regardless of how you put you files on the iphone once you have used it with itunes on one computer it wont let you easily move to a new computer to get more files or move files from the device to the new computer. The link I posted is how to trick the iphone into thinkings the new computer is the old computer.

I too hate itunes and especially the sync function. Tried for years to avoid itunes all together.

From my understanding Apple will only an iPhone to be synched with one computer at a time. I've had similar issues and had to use a program to transfer the music from my iPhone to my computer, then transfer the music from that program to my itunes account. There may be other ways, but that was my experience.
Besides what mentioned above, i like to share you a page about iPhone Transfer Backup Reviews, which included transferring iPhone contents to computer/iTunes.
Hopefully this works for all of you like it just worked for me!
