Here is my retro inspired Dodge em' Up Shooter

Description

A dodge em' up game for the most skillful!

The object of the game is to collect as many colored asteroids as possible while avoiding brown asteroids and incoming ships. Touch the left and right sides of the screen to move the player ship. You only have one chance. No extra lives for this game!

-Retro pixel graphics with Retina Display!
-Best score is saved so you and friends can play for the highest score!
-Power-ups galore!
-Insane difficulty!!! not for the weak!!!
-Music by K.T.F!

    I purchased your game, I dig it! It's hard (as you can probably tell I'm into hard games lol), I managed to get around 20 before I died... a lot.

    I see the scan lines filter I made turned out great, adds to the 8 bit feel of your game :)

    I'll leave ya a nice review, congrats on the release and best of luck in sales!

    Thanks, but in all honesty...I never played an iPhone game as difficult as yours! I still have nightmares about that first boss level!!!

    Hey KT, I've been playing this a bit and thought I'd give you some feedback if that's ok? :D

    1. Great job on the music, its ace! I really liked the music from the first version as well - any chance you could put it in as an option maybe? An unlockable? Purdy please? :)

    2. The grey asteroids are superfluous! There, I said it! I think the game's plenty hard without them in there. Because making you bigger gives you no advantage, they're just another rock to avoid. If making you big meant you could crash through asteroids without being killed, then it would have a useful purpose. Right now it just limits what you *want* to pick up, and increases the stuff that can kill you!

    3. No powerups - while it may take away the sense of constant danger, powerups could give the player something to look forward to - a reward if you will - just something to give them a brief respite between the smashing into asteroids looking stupid. ;) Some examples:
    a) Increased rate of fire - this could up the tempo a little, make the player feel more comfortable and cocky. Till the powerup's used up.
    b) Shields - again - might take away from the hardcore message of the title, but will give less able players a chance to play and get further!
    c) Smart bomb - destroys all enemies on-screen when collided with.

    These shouldn't be hard to put in at all - the question is, does it fit your vision for the game? If not, then all's well really!
    Maybe offer an easy mode with these additions for us elderly folk! :D

    I'm so glad you're geting back into this - always enjoyed your games and the music within them!

    Heck yeah I'll implement this into the game. Between the both of us, that Grey asteroid freaks me out sometimes too! As for music, I will ad the original track as well as keep the other one, and I will try my best to add all the power-up stuff you said. Thanks BTW, This is the kind of stuff I need to hear in order to be a better developer :)

    Well I just seen sales figures for the last 2 days, and its nothing really good to brag about. I was hoping that one of the reviewers I sent my app to would post something, but nothing yet.

    Nevertheless, I'll probably buy some ad space or something and also try to get 1.1 out the door.

    Thanks guys! The game isn't a total disaster, but I was hoping to get a few more sales out of it. I'm gonna try some advertisement ideas to help sales pick up.

    The thing is - when the art is "Retro Pixel", does one really need to do an iPad version?

    I am actually an iPad user, but I had plenty of fun playing "Space Invaders Infinity Gene"
    even before they actually supported iPad, because it's retro anyway.


    Your game looks like a fun one from the screens!

    Listen to reviews, because for "extreme challenge games" like Geometry Wars etc.
    minor adjustments in logic, stats, etc. make for BIG differences in playability.

    I never liked games with very limited lives ;-) but your choice.
    It's too much stress on the gamer somehow

    Actually, sheep have cloven hooves, which means they can do up to four point multi-touch with their front legs. Just be careful of scratching the screen!
