Hey guys, my first post here and also my first game with the wicked gamesalad! (go easy on it eh!)

It's a peggle-ish/pachinko-esque/pinball-er type of game, where the aim of the game is to score big.
I'm hoping that somewhere down the line that gamecenter support is integrated into gamesalad, as this is exactly the type of game that needs online leaderboards!

But yeah, this was my first attempt at actually finishing a game, and my first submission to the app store. I'm currently awaiting for approval so hoping the app will be live by some point next week. ***see below this has changed: I'm offering it up for free for the first two weeks (from the date it goes live), and then it'll be 59p afterwards ***

The plan is to add more levels beyond the initial 4, but that depends on whether I get enough downloads to make it worthwhile. If not, I guess it'll give me a taste of how I go about updating apps anyway.

Got tons of ideas for other games (shooters and platformers mainly), so you will probably catch me around here again, either posting them up when they're done or asking for assistance.

Thanks for looking guys, let me know what you think of it!

- Matty

PS: Oh yeah, I'll post back on here when it goes live so y'all can grab it whilst it's free!

Thanks for the suggestion. Is it possible to change the pricing now whilst it's awaiting approval?

nm: I found it easily enough, lol!

Definitely want to offer it up free at some point, so will let you all know when it goes free. In the meantime I'll see if I can rustle up some promo codes ;)

mattyr64 ... great first game ... I really like the gameplay idea and think you have done well with the look and feel.

I also think you should forge ahead with more levels ... as soon as possible .... your success might be held back by not 'going all in'. Some of a games success is word of mouth, some reviews etc so if the first people who download like it and play it a lot then their likely to tell their friends. Right now it seems it would be finished too quick even for a free game.

I also think there are numerous new ways to make it expand .. have different items to hit as the levels progress .. some items might need more than one hit to destroy .. perhaps a moving paddle (auto or by the user) to keep the pinball in the scene ... maybe a double/triple layer screen where the camera follows the pinball further up to exciting new objects?!?!

Obviously its your call on what you do but I believe that everyone has numerous game ideas ... the actual difficulty (and potential success) is making a good one and creating value in it.

Simo103, I like your thinking. I've actually already got some stuff in the works (some of the ideas you mentioned infact!) Just the amount of extra stuff I add post-release depends on feedback and demand really. At the moment you have the first two levels unlocked from the start, and these both must be replayed a bit in order to hit the scoring criteria that unlocks the other two. I must admit though, within half and hours play you will have unlocked all the stuff easily, which is why I'd like to somehow integrate a leaderboard with friends scores to beat!

Thanks guys for taking the time to post back to me.

It's out now. Quite happy with how smoothly the whole process has been up until now for my first attempt. Game can be found at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pinshot/id417719769?mt=8&ls=1 it's currently 59p/$0.99
If anyone fancies it, please leave me a review or post some feedback on here. All input is appreciated as long as it's constructive. Thanks

Wow.. REALLY nice for a first game!
Good work.. And good luck with the sales..

By the way, do I smell some Peggle? lol.. :D

Yeah, it's a bit of an upside down peggle, but not nearly half as good. If I could tap into that "just one more go" type play that peggle is all about, I'd be laughing all the way to the bank!

Thanks for the compliment, no idea how the sales will turn out. But either way, this is the first of many games. I'm hoping that each release can be that bit more polished and professional, so keep your eyes peeled for my new stuff.

The gameplay looks great! I'd suggest finding a good artist to give it a unique visual style.
