edited November -1 in Announce Your Game!
Since this game is now nearing completion I thought I'd share some screenshots with the community and see what you think.
Its called Jumpz it is currently only for iPhone and iPod touch, but there are plans to make a HD version for iPad.
The game is simple you have to get the ball to the finnish hole whilst, pressing buttons, avoiding spikes, getting flung in the air by magnets, hitting doors, getting flung across the room by accelerator pads, all while staying under the par score. The game mechanics will be revealed when it is released e.g. how to move the ball :)
Enjoy will be released shortly

Looks great! The only problem I'm seeing is that the graphics each have a white outline.

Yes, the graphics are great only on some of them the white outline is a little sketchy

Looks good, but you definitely need to use some anti aliasing on the white outlines.

Other than the white lines, the graphics look really smooth (not as in cool, as in not rough) but the white outlines make it look much more rough.

    Very nice style.

    Somethings to try.
I think there is a heavy use of yellow/gold. The first image looks great coz the gradient to orange is more apparent. Play with the colours or shades of the yellow objects.

The other thing is the shadows of the objects. Make them look like they are lit by the same lights. First, use the same shadow settings and then play with their Distance, spread and size to bring them nearer or further from the background.

    Hope this is helpful.

    Cheers

It looks like a lot of fun but i really would change the art...too many colours going on for me to focus on the main character for eg.

The jagged edges are on the images that are much larger than they appear on the screen.
This is because of resolution independence.
On the actual iPhone and iPod Touch these lines are smooth I will post some more Screenshots actually from the iPhone to show you. Its just GS makes them Jagged in the simulator for some reason.
Anyway thanks for all the great feedback this has given me a boost to get this game finished.
The first 20 levels for section 1 are complete.
Should I release it now and have the other sections coming soon and add them as I make them or should I wait until all 60 levels are done before releasing the 1st version.
I am also adding a secret feature for if you complete all of the levels, which I'm sure all you guys will like.
A reason to buy the game and try to complete it :)
I'll keep you posted on how development is going, and post some promo codes when it is released.

IMO .. I would do the 60 levels then release .... I think you want as much traction at the beginning as you can get and it seems people expect a lot for very little these days.

I will make all 60 levels then release then :)
It will be 59P or $0.99 if your american.
I will try and make a trailer for it today and post it on here for you guys to see.
You'll find out then how you move the ball :)
    Thanks again

As an easy experiment try lowering the opacity of your background image a bit ... I think it will make the front images pop even more and as Darren said will allow people to focus on your gameplay.

I like the look so well done.

Thanks for the tip I'll try this later and post it with the new screenshots from the actual iPhone instead of the simulator.

P.S I'm only 17 and have been making apps for about a year now. And I am currently at college so don't get much time to do development, due to college work. But I'll try and get this one finished within the next 2 weeks. :)
