I am proud to announce the release of Thumbs 2.0. As a gift to the GameSalad community, you can play the game for free here:
Thumbs game at GameSalad.com
Thumbs was created specifically to take advantage of the finger swiping motion while using the iPhone; however, you can still get an idea of how the game is played using a mouse by clicking and dragging.
If you enjoy playing Thumbs, please recommend it to your family and friends. It is available on the App Store at the following link:

I would like to thank Jeff Smallman of Lighthouse Music for the five original music compositions that make up the soundtrack, and Ian Garstang of Debug Design for his artwork.
I thoroughly enjoyed working on this app. This experience has not only taught me about programming but also allowed me to run a business, develop a marketing plan, collaborate with talented artists, and meet nice people like all of you.
I hope you have as much fun playing Thumbs as I did creating it.
Some interesting facts:
1. To determine the direction of the swipe, I took the coordinates of the first two actors touched. If the x-coordinates were the same, I know that it was a vertical motion. To find out whether the motion was up or down, I subtracted the y-coordinates.
2. The target locations are determined by generating a random number between one and eighteen. Each number has a set of coordinates associated with it. There are eighteen numbers and not twenty-four because six locations are reserved for the “bombs”.
3. A scene contains these elements: (1) the instructions, (2) the grid of coloured squares making up the safe, (3) a congratulatory message, and (4) a retry screen if the player wasn’t successful. All these elements are revealed/hidden using rules.
Some interesting statistics:
Time for development: 1 year
Thumbs-related files: 4.5 GB
Final size: 7.5 MB
Here are some other Thumbs related links:

Thanks, everybody!
