Help with reset scene

Hi i have a game were i shoot aliens,and when their all dead i move on to the next scene automatically.
I have 3 lives.But what the problem is when i get shot i have a rule to reset scene so i can continue on but when i do this,and i shoot all the aliens it wont move on to the next scene.It is like all my attributes dont reset with the scene could anyone please help.This is really p-----g me of.
