Help from a fellow Canadian developer?

Since the GS community is so amazing I thought I'd ask here before trying the apple support forums. I bought my developers licence yesterday and could use some help filling out my tax forums. I pretty much just have a few questions about reregistering for a GST number. If someone whos done it before could walk me though it I would greatly appreciate it.

    A(nother) quick question I had...

I live in canada, do I have to fill out the U.S., Japan and Australia forms as well in order to receive the sale revenue earned in those countries?

Please search the forum for "CanadIan tax form" and you will get you answer as it has been asked several times.

I searched the GS forums but i could only find one and it wasn't quite what I needed. I'm still new to the developers site and haven't been able to locate the support forums over there.

    Hi,
Just a few weeks ago, I had to do the same so here is what's relevant,

You do not need a business or register one to sell in the apple store. Apple will charge the HST on your behalf ....

One thing that you MUST know is to print out the form, fill in your name, address etc and sign it!

I mailed mine via FedEX to their Texas location stated on the form and when my first app was approved, I could not find it in the app store!
The reason for this was that I also needed to click a check mark in the us tax papers.
Only after completing that final and weird step, apple released my apps to the world!

Please know that they will not contact you if anything is wrong so it pays to call and be on their case.

As in any large corporation, there is plenty of confusion about everything so email can say one thing and tech support calls can say another.

The best thing is to do file the papers right now so that once the app is approved, no further delays will accrue.

    Good luck!

P.s. The cut-off in Canada is around $30000 before you need to register.
