Sprite sheets and downloadable characters

So I've been venturing through some of the website with sprite sheets and downloadable images.

What are the rules governing use of these? Are all of these sprite sheets and images available to download as long as you give credit to the creator?

If so, how do you give credit? At the end credits in game, or in the beginning intro before the game starts?

Just wanted to know more about using this, and I did search GameSalad Wiki but didn't see any detail on this, it just said to give credit to the user.

Well I can't really read japanese, but from what I can make out it is free. I used the google translate. Plus YOU create the character, buy putting all the pieces together. I'm gonna use them until I find out otherwise.

Looks cool, but the translation looks like you can not use it for your iPhone games. (Not for commercial use)
