edited November -1 in Announce Your Game!
The free versions of Arcade Action and Annoyed Tomatoes are now available on the iTunes App Store.

Arcade Action (Free)...

Annoyed Tomatoes (Free)...
http://itunes.apple.com/app/annoyed-tomatoes-free/id406234632?mt=8

I waited months for this moment. I should be happy today, but I'm actually quite angry.

Problem #1 - Annoyed Tomatoes jumped to 20.2 MB because of the screenshot issue. That could result in significantly less downloads.

Problem #2 - The "Release Date" area of the iTunes App Store is broken. That means less people finding my apps.

So, it looks like a tough day for me.
...but a good day for you if you were waiting to play these games for free.

It seems to be quite a struggle to get things right, especially when things beyond my control are messing things up. Heh, on the bright side, I think that's why The Unofficial GameSalad Textbook is so good. I've become a great educator by experiencing all these problems myself. HA HA!

Not everything... it was good to read your friendly reply.

Heh, I like the title of this thread too.

    Two things I've noticed...

    1) Game Center would be awesome for Arcade Action.

    2) How come the Nissan advertisement knows what time it is, but GameSalad does not?! Heh!

    Whew... Apple fixed the listings!

Arcade Action and Annoyed Tomatoes now properly appear on the Release Date list.

Good luck with the 'free' approach. I hope it drives customers your way and you get an opportunity to determine if it makes an impact.

Be good to know how it goes, if it works, I might do the same with Quake Builder... the lite version still gets about 500 sales a day, and the paid version about 2 - 5...

So whether I'd earn more with ads if the full version was free would be good to know, before putting the effort in.

    What's the screenshot issue?

Basically, my app is about half a meg larger than it should be, simply because unnecessary screenshots were included with the binary.

That extra data pushed my app over the 20 MB download limit.

OK, I uploaded Annoyed Tomatoes 1.0.1 to resolve the 20 MB download problem. Heh, it's probably too little too late. The app (along with Arcade Action) has dropped off the "Release Date" list.

It wasn't a perfect test, but I think I have enough data to make a decent conclusion. It seems that the general consensus here is correct - iAds are not that great. With this new information, I'm not sure what to work on next.

Next? I can't believe you have already forgotten that you planned to write a "Getting started with Corona" book!
You are very good at publishing ... anyone can make a game but it takes a genius to write a book! :)

When did I state that I would be working on a Corona book? I doubt that I did state such a thing. I have been considering it, but that's not the same thing as saying I'm planning to do it. I haven't even downloaded Corona or posted on their forums.

    Wow, that's a huge compliment.

I have been considering a book on Web Development. I know a lot more about that than Corona.

@Photics I thought annoyed tomatoes was pretty cool. I haven't got to play arcade action yet. I did play with some of the iAds in annoyed tomatoes since hadn't ever messed with them. i'm actually kinda surprised people don't click them more they are pretty interesting. One of them was like a mini game. it also gave me a few free music downloads. And best of all after you get done with the ad you go right back to where you where in the game. thats the other thing I have always hated about the other ads.
