Hi liljamojamo, well done for getting a game onto the app store; that's an achievement. My opinion of your game: the graphics are not bad at all, perfectly acceptable; the gameplay looks to be limited, as well as the scenes; to be honest, it looks to be a "one-trick pony" and you'll have to wait to see if people will pay out even $0.99 for ten minutes gameplay before they might get fed up with it.

Please take this criticism as constructive; even though we're involved with game-making, it's still a harsh world out there with lots of competition.

With making games, there's one particular mantra out of a few I tell myself: "quality not quantity". Best of luck with your next game, getting it the best you can no matter how long it takes, perhaps trying to weave in more gameplay with different backgrounds for scenes; try to push the "fun" aspect all the time; thinking that repetitive fun is often good in games, but lots of different types of repetition.

OK, I'll wait for you to throw stones at me now. ;-)

Oh, one other thing: I could be totally wrong and you sell bucketloads! I Sincerely hope your game is successful, despite my crits.

Thanks thats good advice my next game that I'm working on is a car racing game you have to see how fast you can beat a level by having the car follow a single waypoint its going to bee much better with 50+ levels

Phew, i'll put away the body armour now! Seriously, glad my advice helped and best of luck with your car racing project. 50+ levels is sounding excellent, especially with a variation of types of road and backgrounds for some scenes, I'm guessing.

    :-)

Without any punishment or reward, you're just touching ants. It needs more.

Also think about your app description on the itunes store

    'A bug squishing game'

Would that make you want to buy it? As has been said, the app store is hugely competitive with over 300,000 games/apps on it, in your description try to make it sound as exciting and interesting as possible :-)

I'd remove or change that last screenshot.

Your graphics are good but that text on that brown - ugh. It looks messy and the border of the text is whacked.

Consider looking at the custom font score demo floating around; a custom score would look MUCH nicer with the rest of your good looking graphics :)

Massive congrats on getting as far as getting a game on the app store. A huge achievement on its own.

    But being constructive:

Basically ditto what everyone else says...

Add a better description, custom number fonts for the scoring, maybe a few different levels rather than 3 similar looking screen shots, which make me assume there is only one level. Even if the sandwich was on another side....

Add a variety of bugs, maybe bees/wasps buzz in and try and steal the sandwich.

Lose points for squashing good/nice bugs (lady birds?)

A more accurate title with bug in the title might help.

    Just ideas...

Good luck with the new car racing game...

Thanks Everyone The Title Was a typo and it will take another two weeks to change so I'm gonna leave it how it is and make a better game.

I agree with peach about the text in the screenshots. those shots are the main thing people look at when deciding to buy a game. It looks like the shots were taken in the GS previewer, no?

If you want to keep everything the same and make those shots look better, get the screen captures from the app running on an actual device.
