After only 1 day of sales I have decided to test something out. I have made Alpha Sniper free for 3 days.

Reasoning behind this:
I was at the top of the list for Simulation (new releases) and on the first page for new releases under the games and action category. After about 5 hours of fighting to keep my thread a float on toucharcade I noticed it was not getting much attention and I wanted to take advantage about being on the top of the list.

Then it hit me, the biggest problem most of us have is that we do not have the name recognition that the more successful apps do, such as halfbrick or donut games. So when the average Joe see's game from X game company it better make them Sh*t their pants or they will just over look it.

Thats when I thought since my game obviously doesn't make players sh*t their pants, it wouldn't hurt to try and get word of my game out there by making it free for a few days. who knows, maybe in those 3 days 5,000 people will download it and they will tell their friends about it and things could just snow ball.

Any way please help me out by grabbing a copy of it and leaving me a review and rate :)

    I've just done this with Juzzies. However I'm making it free for a week leading up to the release my new game. On the first day it had 800 free downloads, then the second day had an extra 1,700, as well as multiple reviews on websites and youtube. So now I'm expecting an even bigger number by the end of today.

    I think it's also a publicity thing. Think about the number of people that show their friends new apps they found (hell I'm one of them). If you have thousands of people who have downloaded the game for free show their friends after it goes back to paid, you'll be able to score some better sales in theory. I'm trying my best to really promote my new game so that it takes off when it launches.

    I'll grab a copy and leave a review sometime today! Good luck with sales!

    I also think people like seeing that your game has the star ranking or they tend to stay away from it.

    thats like when i put my app up for free it got 1300 the first day then 1800 then dropped to 700 then dropped to 200 and has continued dropping down to 'bout 50 a day!

    pretty good job, I find the targeting a little awkward.

    Fire button was not obvious enough, you have it in the demo but there needs to be some indication of a button there. I found it eventually by tapping around when i first played.

    if i lose the target in zoomed view its difficult to locate quickly, you can zoom out but its a little annoying.
    Should put an arrow on the edge of the target to indicate the direction to go.

    The target wraps over the x axis, was this intended?

    For the first iteration, pretty good stuff.

    Did you draw the manga chick, or buy the image?

    Thanks for the feed back. Yeah the game is supposed to wrap, but idk if you are talking about a target wrapping around. I checked and all targets should not wrap, but one may have squeaked by.

    I actually have a friend who draws manga stuff.

    A little update on how my experiment is going.

    I made Alpha Sniper! free 12/3/12 around 10am Arizona time. I just checked the info I got from appannie and reports show that I had 2,731 downloads.

    I hope this helps out with sales after my experiment is over

    Left a review on the UK app store - I kinda liked the game - it has some issues, but fun overall!

    I saw this game earlier on free app tracker and wasn't on wifi so i had to wait. Had no idea this was a GS game but it looked awesome. thanks for reminding me to go grab it.

    seems like most of my issues are with the iphone4

    I think someone may have informed me on a solution, so Im working on that and hopefully ill get better reviews :)

    on the second day of being free in the app store I have received 15,870 downloads

    to bring a total of 18,601 downloads while free.

    I hope that once I get the update out I can resolve the issue with the iPhone4 and then these numbers will translate into decent sales, but I can only hope.

    well third day downloads are in and yesterday I had 11,133 free downloads. Bringing the total downloads to 29,743.

    Yesterday I submitted my update to apple, so hopefully it will be up soon that way iPhone4 users can actually play my game :)

    Due to this I decided to keep the game free until the update. and then price will be raised to .99

    Hopefully these numbers will turn into some decent paid downloads

    Actually I just made a quick decision to stick to my original 3 day experiment and switch the price back to .99
