GS doesn't save published .app file

ValanValan Member, BASIC Posts: 410
I'm updating a game after going through Tshirtbooth's video tutorial about uploading to Apple and now GS will not finish publishing the game.

I go through all the screens and it asks where to save the file. After I select 'Choose' the window closes and the final publishing screen remains.

Is anyone else having this problem?

ok when you install a provisioning profile WITH YOUR device plugged in. xcode opens that window where it shows your devices. In there click on the profile section in the left had side. it will show you all the provisoning you have.
    1) make sure you dont have 2 of the same one
    2) see if it has a triangle with a ! in it.

if it does then its no good, and if you have 2 then GS may be using the wrong one.

as soon as i fixed this i was able to publish with no issues.

I looked in the Provisioning Profiles. Correct?

I had several profiles and deleted them all and made a new one. Still no go.

However, I did notice that I have 2 iphone distribution files and 1 iphone Dev file in my Developer Profile.

Any idea on how to delete these?

By the way, great vid Tshirtooth.

I deleted one of the Distribution files in my Developer Profile and it works.

Thanks tshirtbooth, I would never have thought to look there.

the actual problem is that my games never get passed the saving process in the publishing part? is there a way to fix this?

The solution I got from Tshirtbooth.

I deleted all my profiles and downloaded them again.

If that doesn't work then delete them again and make a new App ID and use that to create new profiles.

    Look in your Keychain Access.
In My Certificates I had 3 iPhone certs. You should have 2. A developer and a distribution.

I had more so I deleted all of them a reinstalled them.

does it matter if the certificates say that they are not yet valid
  • diegocsdiegocs Member Posts: 531
    how do i validate them?
  • ValanValan Member, BASIC Posts: 410
One of mine was not valid. I deleted them all from my Mac and downloaded them again.

tried that many times, when you make certificates identical to to original ones are they suposed to work?
  • ValanValan Member, BASIC Posts: 410
    Did you make new certificates?

Ive just spent the last 6 hours pissing about with this too....

Ive deleted all of my Certs and provisioning profiles, and generated completely new ones, and its still not working. Im getting apps saved, but theyre not recognised and usable by Application Loader.

UPDATE: all done and finally got my game uploaded to the appstore... yippee.

I'd have saved myself an hour of confusion if i'd have remembered to zip the final bundle up for the App Loader. I'll blame that on being tired :)

I revoked my distribution cert and downloaded again. My dev cert remained and I downloaded both.

I also downloaded my wwdr(Worldwide Developer Relations) cert.

Maybe you have, but you can look at this http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#qa/qa2008/qa1618.html

    hi..

In my case I am trying to publish a distribution version.....but instead of getting back my signed app from the GS server (com.zidware.game).....I get (com.gamesalad.game)? Of course Application Loader catches this instantly.

    How do we publish?

I'm using application loader to load an app but it just says "application failed code-sign verification. The signature was invalid.".
I deleted my certificates but it always show the distribution ones invalid, but the testing ones are fine. Help i am way behind the release date. Please Help!!!!!!! Thanks

Is it just me or can you not create new certificates once you have one?
  • diegocsdiegocs Member Posts: 531
what i did was, after millions of trial and error, was to do what it says above. i deleted everything in the provisioning tab in the provisioning portal, also deleted certificates in the certificates tab and in my keychain (keychain access). I made a new bundle id, i made new certificates (both distribution an developer, with my new bundle id), made a distribution provisioning profile as well as a developer one, downloaded everything, at first it didn't work as it said that the certificates weren't valid, so i waited and the day after they ver valid, and i could finally publish my game to itunes

I cleared my Keychain of iOS stuff, Revoked my dist cert and downloaded all my Apple stuff again.

Not sure what Revoke does so I cannot suggest this to anyone.
