Problems publishing updates for apps

So yesterday I was finally able to publish a new app to the app store, and it worked, but I now have issues publishing updates to applications.
Everytime I select the application to update, I get through all the screens, except it says the server times out once trying to complete it.
More frustration!
I then tried a different method in adding the update as a "new" application, and just changing the version number, but the application loader won't accept it, and says there is an error, so it has to be updated.
I know I'm using the correct provisioning profile so it's not on my end.
Anyone else having issues with this? I would like to get this resolved soon, as I've been waiting to publish an update for this app for quite some time
