Even though this is the best game I have made and was featured in N&N of the main games section it only makes around $1 a day. So this feels like defeat but, I thought "what the hell" let's just make it free and hopefully people will enjoy it. If it only costs me $1 to spread some love than so be it!

    Im not sure if you can add ads with gamesalad, but you may want to do that and just keep it free.
    Or maybe add in app purchases.

    I saw it on the popular section of AppShopper.

    $322 since october 15. But nearly all of that came from the 2 days on the new release list and then from being N&N for a week. Since being off N&N it has only been doing 1 or 2 sales a day. Pretty sad!

    XMB still gets between $10-$15 everyday. I think it is due to the massive number of free downloads I got through the freeappaday marketing back four or five months ago. so I am hoping that if enough people download Papa over the next few days I can put it back up and people will buy it after seeing on their friends phones. We'll see.

    If this doesn;t work I may pull it and break it up into two or three games.

    O wow then you are doing in a month more the 300 dolar with XMB thats very good, but i have to say your XMB game looks pretty good i still have it on my iPod.

    Wow! an XMB fan - thought that dinosaur was extinct!

    Anyone feel like giving the full (and now free) version of Papa an honest rating?

    That bastard rotstink has somehow found a way to review it twice (at least that's how appfigures shows it)! What a douche!

    EDIT: A little TA bump would be nice too (if you have time)

    Actually yes it was the first game make with GameSalad that i play i was pretty impressed.

    I have downloaded your papa game, i will make a good review from your game for tomorrow for the german store^^

    Hey sci, just downloaded and reviewed in Oz app store. Hope it finds some fans, it's pretty slick. Good job, and inspiring stuff for would be devs!

    That said, the jumping physics weirds me out a little (as it accelerates upwards towards the peak of the jump, it seems). And the background image gives me the jitters. But tilt seems pretty accurate and responsive. I'd be interested to know if you're using long scenes and panning, or moving actors past a fixed camera.

    Also, as I'm currently engrossed in the game I'll post here any bugs/glitches in the spirit of constructive criticism:
    • Tilting hard left at start of level (1-3, but maybe others) causes PW to fall off the edge of screen.
    • Stacking two friendly happy tires in minigames makes them impossible to separate.
    • Death animations often cause the camera to jump - possibly to the nearest non-tyre actor? It seems to be doing this with a flaming barrel where I keep dying on 1-3.
    • You can jump mid-fall off a ledge.
    • Does green centurion tyre in 1-3 shoot at random angle? If so, that's pretty nasty.
    Hope this is all helpful feedback.

    Free DL #s have no effect on the rank when you put it back to paid. I am hoping that people will like it enough that it will cause some word of mouth after it goes back to paid. We'll see...

    Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into those bugs. My 5 year old has found a few others as well. I also have learned more about zooming the camera so I plan on improving the way the works as well.

    maybe when people find their sales dry up, why not sell the project file so people could use it as a template for something else. Selling templates could be one way to make money with GS.

    I'll admit I'm not the most dextrous, but Papa Wheelie is killing me. A big problem I have is not seeing what's ahead in time to get the controls to respond. As the game progresses left to right, you might consider having the player avatar towards the left of screen rather than centred, allowing for more warning of what's ahead. That and the seemingly random spike launches make for a too-steep difficulty curve, methinks.

    Unrelatedly, I'd love any pointers you may have on the variable height jumping - something I'm keen on but haven't really looked into much.
