Torque about being a risky business...

Haven't checked in here for a while, been, ironically, swamped finishing up an iPhone app in another tool! I see there is news of news coming.

Meanwhile, as an example of how getting the business model wrong could be bad, Torque are shutting down:

    What made Torque special though?

I don't know about the business model but I do know about the software.
I bought iTorque 2d for around 800usd and it was a piece of crap - slow and buggy!
Bad support, no new features... just terrible

Yeah, I don't think this is about the business model as much as about the quality of the product.

Perhaps the GameSalad team should make a special offer to get those wandering Torque customers.

Oh... that's right... GameSalad isn't actually for sale right now, is it?!

Very sad to hear this news.

Very funny with your thread title.

@Colin which tool have you been working with?

The tool for the iPhone/iPad app I'm doing is Flash. We were originally going to use GameSalad, but then suddenly Flash was allowed again, and GameSalad looked like it was going to have to be published by them (which our client wouldn't have been thrilled about). Also, it's full of vector characters and animation, and timelines synced to audio, and other things that GameSalad would have struggled to do.

They have release a new, and better, version for iTorque.
TGB is one of the best 2D engine and it cost only 100$
