    Yes...in the same boat as well:(

    I actually in a worse boat:) I actually bought a mac mini just to use game salad. I am PC all the way. But want to make games for iphone and ipad badly. Game Salad was best solution. So i buy a MAC ( never owned one in my life ) and get it hooked up. I download game salad. Get my first test app loaded...then go to publish to upgrade so i can test....MY DISH IS NOT FOUND!! :(

    So sad. Hoping I didn't jump on the band wagon right when the wheels broke.

    It wasn't the best move for them to take down the membership page without an eta for it to come back up. All they had to say was that page was coming down for maintenance for the weekend or something, bute its been 3 days now.

    I can't imagine apple ever taking down the store for longer than it takes to update it.

    That being said, it should be back ion, unfortunately, you don't know what their definition of soon is

    So lets give them a few days. I think we will all be pleasantly surprised.

    My guess is that they are going to raise the price to $250-$300 range and drop pro...which would drop them just below Unity and Corona in price...unless some amazing new feature (like source code access) comes into play.
  • synthesissynthesis Member Posts: 1,693
    I have a feeling most pro accounts expire soon...and no one is buying them...and renewals are down....but their user count I imagine is growing.

    Game Maker will wipe them out if they try to charge $300, especially for BETA software. What is GM , $25? GS isn't worth more than $99 IMO, its far too limiting.
  • synthesissynthesis Member Posts: 1,693
    @Tyme...
    It was my understanding that GameMaker is web only.

    And price is a matter of competition. GS is currently the only D&D GUI for iPhone development (using no code) that I know of.
  • TymeMasterTymeMaster Member Posts: 527
    No, GM is Web, PC, Mac, and soon iPhone.

    GM is both D&D plus scripting (scripting is not needed, but is there if you want it). So its the best of both worlds for the noob game dev. Plus its been around for over a decade.

    Is there an ETA?

    Yea I'd be curious about an ETA, I was looking in the forums, but didn't see anything.

    At any rate, Game Maker looks like a good contender to Gamesalad, if the price is right, and if they release iphone publishing soon.

    The best part about them is that they've been around for a decade, so they're not going anywhere.

    Yeah...but building for mobile devices is a whole different can of worms than building for web or PC. They may have optimization woes too out of the gate.

    I would think they would too, but I'm sure they will optimize in a more timely manner than Gendai has. I guess only time will tell!

    You need to spend money to make money. And i Want gamesalad to stay in business so they can keep updating it.

    Tymemaster, Im sorry but i need to ask you. Why are you here?

    You never have anything good to say about gamesalad.

    I know all about spending money to make money, and I also know alot about software development.

    Why are you here? Is it normal for moderators to flame customers, cause you are doing it and I don't like your attitude punk.

    I say a lot of good things punk, stop harassing me.

    @tshirtbooth - Your reply above is not "being nice", it is downright rude and uncalled for. Listen man, I do not care what you think about me, but unless I am breaking some rules I suggest you back off. I am getting pissed off now, these are not your forums, you do not work for Gendai.

    @TymeMaster, He's not flaming you. He is just saying that you post a lot of negative comments about GS and the devs at Gendai Games. From what I read Tshirtbooth didn't really come at you in a foul way, and I kinda did wonder why you were bashing GS anyways.

    @TymeMaster:

    You have a right to your opinion just as everyone else does here, and a lot of your statements have been helpful to myself, and others, and you offer good insight into the industry, from your experience.

    You also have a tendency towards brash statements, and name calling, so perhaps finding better avenues of communicating would make it seem less harsh.

    There is nothing wrong with a good debate, and certainly nothing wrong with giving info on the competition, as long as there are no personal attacks involved against others here.

    Tshirt is coming from an angle of trying to help, not flaming people in the forums.

    At any rate, hope you see the angle I'm getting at. :)

    @TymeMaster:

    It's kinda like that whole westboro baptist church deal. They are technically not doing anything illegal, but holy crap do they know how to stir up controversy.

    I think I remember a quote from another thread "There goes TymeMaster picking fights again." And then to see it here.... I mean come on, we're not blind.

    I like the tight knit spirit I've seen so far in this forum. Don't be "that guy" k?

    I plan to announce my game later this week. It will be out mid-November. Should I announce that it will support game centre or not? That's my dilemma right now.
    Like I said in another post, I have a better communication with Autodesk, a company known for not giving a crap about their customers. A small company like Gendai Games should really communicate more with their customers. A road map for further releaser would help a lot. Also they don't seem to answer any email these days, what's up with that? Not very pro! Sorry to bring this on the forum but I really don't know any other way to get in touch with them.

    I can't believe how this progressed. I thought the guy (with the TShirt or whatever), was very professional to the the other guy (who cooks with Tyme or something?).

    Somebody seems sensitive tonight...

    This tshirt kid is really an annoying little runt. I have a low BS tolerance and frankly he has been harassing me for weeks. These guys have big balls sitting behind their little computer screens.

    How many different ID's does tshirt have here? I already caught him two days ago when he posed the SAME EXACT response from two different ID's. Why would he do such a thing, and then have the balls to sit here and accuse me of the same thing? I dunno, I get a lot of private mails saying he does this all the time. Frankly I just want to hang out here, try to help, and not he harassed by him. He needs to grow up really.
