Importing graphics lose quality

Hi Gang!

I took some time off from GS but am starting to work on a new game. I had someone create background images (I think she used Photoshop) and the images are 1024 x 768 and 72 dpi. When I add them to GS and try to add them to the scene it looks like the image quality is horrible. I can preview the image and it looks great. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Chris

    Are you using Resolution Independence?

Ive tried it both ways. I've also tried dragging the pic into the scene, creating an actor with 1024x768 as it's size and another as 480x320, then adding the image and it always turns out poor quality.

A lot of times I've seen Photoshop make 72dpi actually 72.01dpi. You may want to check that in Preview.

Ah... It wasn't 72.01 but 359.98. Once I fixed it it worked. BIG THANKS!

When I add artwork to GameSalad, I try to the limit the amount of conversion. I save the files as PNG-24, so GameSalad can't mess with it too much.

Thanks for the tip. I'll pass this along to my intern that is doing my art. I love cheap labor ;)
