can you give release copies of your own apps?

Ive received notification from apple that one of my provisioning profiles will expire soon. I think this means that the copy of the game on my own device will expire unless i generate a new provisioning profile for this app - but also i assume anyone I have given an adhoc version will also need a new prov profile from me.

so my question is - is it possible to give free copies of your own apps to specific people\devices (for non US so promo codes are no good) or is the only way to drop the price to free for a couple of days?

any ideas?

    You can only give free copies if the price on the appstore is free (unless you give out the US promos). You can give out adhoc builds but after (i think its 3 months?) the provisioning profile expires, you would need to renew these and send them out again.

    ok - thanks for that. Im expecting apple to approve a change on one of my apps this week, so once thats done I will have a free weekend on all my apps - that way friends and family can get a release copy on their devices - and with any luck I can raise a little more interest.
