QS says: "Sound as a pound!" Sound issue - missing and repeating sounds :(

Hi everyone!

Well, work is progressing nicely on the next Quantum Sheep game, Gravitrix. We should be done in a couple of weeks I think, hopefully sooner.

We have about 80 levels in at the moment, with hopefully at least another 20 to bring the total to a whopping 100.

Everything runs fine, with no memory issues even on an iphone 1st gen 8gb model. Apart from one thing. The sound.

There's not much sound in the game at all at the moment. There's a continuously playing background track, a countdown timer, and two sounds depending on what you collide with.

The issue occurs about 50 levels in. It's not a huge deal - the countdown beeps down from 3, 2, 1 then Go!

The '2' beep and the 'Go!' beep stop sounding.

Additionally (and this is harder to replicate) the 'collision' beeps will start sounding, even when nothing's being collided with. Continuously.

I've never had this issue before (but then again, I've not built 100 levels before!) and I'm confuzzled as to what the cause may be.

I won't be online for a bit, so I may not respond straight away. Hopefully I'll be able to check this thread later and find words of wisdom from someone far cleverer than me!

Thanks for the help!

Wow... if QS is stumped, it must be something bad. >.<

    Heh - not stumped ;)

Just curious to know why it's happening when there's no logic behind it. Is it related to the memory leak? Is it a separate sound issue? I don't know!

Would be good *to* know, though!

Perhaps playing the sounds for .1 seconds at 0 volume at the start of each scene will help, then putting the volume up to normal again? I seem to remember someone having problems and that being the solution.

I'm rather loathe to put in more rules than I have to though!

    Thanks for the response though!
