Okay, I have been inspired by the likes of StusApps and Tshirtbooth and the amazing quality to time ratio these guys are displaying.

I have set myself a goal. By this Friday, I want to launch my next game... a completely new game (the current one needs the GS update). So, I have an idea and four days to implement it!

I will post back with screenies when I have some!

Of course, I may fail as I just scored a bunch of awesome retro games including Tempest X3... which might eat up a bit of the week... LOL. And then there is my day job (which doesn't pay anything YET - LOL again).

Wish me luck!!!!

Also, may I add that if the game isn't quite finished or needs work... it won't be released until it's ready or there'd be no point. But the aim is to complete a decent game in 4 days!

    Good luck!

I am also inspired by quick yet polished games that GS users are putting out. I have two major projects I have been working on for months that are both nearly done, but I want to wait for the update before releasing those. In the mean time I have a game with about 12 hours put into it so far that I started on Friday. I am hoping to be done with it by tomorrow and submit it. It has been a nice break from my two major projects. Hopefully it will end up being half as polished as some of these great games people are pumping out!

    Good luck :)

Like Scitunes I've also been inspired by the fast yet high quality games a few people have been putting out lately.

I'm working on my own now, although the timeline I've set myself is a week - it will be close, but we'll see.

Look forward to some updates :)

Yeah, I'm gonna always have a bigger project on the go but try and pump out quality minimalistic (I know that's not a word - LOL) games too, just to pump up the POLYGAMe store shelf and hopefully gain a bit of sales traction.

I'm currently working for myself. I've been a freelance motoring writer for the last half decade and have decided to do it full time again, so I started up a site... I have the automotive manufacturers backing (so I get free cars) but drumming up interest in advertising is tough (plus I need to wait until I have loads more hits and content).

SO, making a quick buck from games seems like a good idea, only I don't want to waste months on something like I did with Max and have it flop (although if I had a few games earning what Max did, I'd be okay).

Of course, I'm not going to sell out. I'm still only going to make stuff I'd actually play, so the tough bit is coming up with ideas that are decent and can be implemented quickly!

I have one, so far. LOL. Actually, make that two! Just had another! Woohoo!

Very best of luck guys. Am still doing well with cake bake, averaging about 50 sales a day. Also having an app maintain it's ranking positions has had a great effect on all my other games at the moment.

Nice! This is what I attempted to do this weekend. Two-day challenge. But failed the deadline. Got busy yesterday doing other things. So I'm about 15 hours in and I think I need another 15 ;) It should be done by friday. You can see my other thread about "Chameleon Count" to see what's going on.

    Best of luck POLY!

How do you do it Stu?!

I'm the exact same way. I have to be careful as I tend to chain smoke the entire time, I always think to myself, "I could eat something, but then I'd have to stop working - maybe just one more cig while I finish up what I'm doing...."

I fear by the time I finish my next game the area directly over my chair is going to have a tar coating >.<'

That said, that might be a good thing. This house is small, old and ready to get blown over. There was thunder the other night and the whole place shook - even the ground. Just from thunder. The tar could reinforce it! :P

This thread encouraged me to get off my ass and finish my project in the week I'd allowed myself - the deadline would have been 12:30 AM Wednesday night/Thursday morning - so I did it with 40 or so hours to spare.

    Not too shabby considering one of those days I was at the dentist, another I was drunk and another I was sleeping one off.... All in all, including those 40 odd hours, that puts me at around 3 days, I reckon ^-^;

Well, off to a flying start! It's 11am, still in bed and haven't unpacked my Mac Mini yet. I shall get up and get going soon... but it's so warm and cozy... And I have so many updates to write for website! Aargh!

    Ahaha!

I do most of my games from bed! :D

I too was inspired by StuApps and Tshirt - the next QS game is therefore 'Gravitrix' (thanks for the name, Poly!) and is now in its second week of development with 30 levels done :D

Hoping to get it all 'finished' by the weekend when I'll send it out to some beta testers - then, fixes, and submit to Apple hopefully some time next week!

    QS :D

Well ever since I captured a screen shot of the iPhone keyboard, I've been wanting to try to make it functional...

Have a very small puzzle in mind... 3 gfx to make...then all that attempting to get the KB to respond and displayText. I'll do the gfx 1st and procrastinate on the torture!

Think this challenge gives me the incentive to try for it!
    Thanx @POLYGAMe!

    4 days...hmm can't start till tomorrow...

It's okay. I mostly do my work in my bed where its comfortable and gets my creative juices pumping.

    Heh!

Having said all that, these things always take twice as long as you'd like them to!

Goodluck polygame!, im working on my third game at this moment, doubt id get anywhere near 4 days, after the first game i made i learnt some new tricks and the same with the second, learnt something new, or someway or making a game run alot better. the overall idea for my next game is alot more simpler than the last two, yet completely unique!, atleast i hope it is . time will tell.
  • AfterBurnettAfterBurnett Member Posts: 3,474
I'm not gonna make it. Wasted an entire day trying to get the most basic of attributes to work... no reason why it shouldn't but it just won't. Been over and over the code...
  • peachpellenpeachpellen Member Posts: 977
Have you tried making a new project just with the jump stuff in it to test?

I'm sorry your having problems with it :(
  • AfterBurnettAfterBurnett Member Posts: 3,474
Yeah, I did that. That didn't work, either! I have changed the character from a truck to a wagonwheel... cheap but it works for the 4 day challenge ;) Have done three tentative stages but I'm waiting to hear back from Tshirt who's taking a look at it for me in the morning ;-)
  • peachpellenpeachpellen Member Posts: 977
Hope he works it out and can help you - it's so frustrating when things just wont work no matter how many times you redo it, exactly as instructed >.<'
  • AfterBurnettAfterBurnett Member Posts: 3,474
Underway now. TShirt helped with the problem I had and it worked but I've actually changed the game significantly. Don't worry, TShirt, I'm still gonna make that game! Just won't be a 4 day project ;-)

Here's the title screen from my 4 Day Challenge!
