    ?? where were you stuck?

I think i've finished it, after the second level there was just some empty levels, and then it said "you have died" and stuck there.
I like those kind of games :D
I do not really like the graphics, nor the jump that is a bit too "up-down" without an easing transition, but I like the game itself, I'll keep an eye on it :D

I gave up after finally getting down to the second level.

I'll give you a hint though... if you market a game as being impossible, you will definitely limit the number of people who would potentially buy it. I can't think of more than one or two people that go out of their way to play a game there is potentially no way to beat. That is one of the main points of games...

Personally, the biggest detriment to your game is that there are no signs in your game as to what is coming up that could prepare a player for the hazards. So it typically means getting lambasted, starting over and then inching your way forward through the level until you pass the latest trap you are aware of and then getting wasted by the next one. How is that fun? If they at least have some hint of the danger 90% of the time...

    Just my 0.02

Rattlehead, I can assure you that there are lot of people who enjoys those kind of games, and there are other games like this on the appstore :D
This game isn't that "impossible" too, I found it rather easy. It's just die, remember what killed you and avoid it. It took me 2-3 minutes to end those two levels, and I enjoyed them.
And for me, it was those "no warning" that made it fun.
After I successfully passed under the rotating stick (can't find a better word :P), I thought I finished that level, when a bomb dropped from the sky and killed me. I like that.
Oh well, reading it again, I seems a masochist <_<.

Tons of people love these games, and labeling it as "impossible" adds the sence thy the difficulty is higher than other platformers

The graphics suck, they are just placeholders till I spend some time to create them.

As for movement, I don't like the jumping either, I am doing everything I can to fix this issue

If you had read what I posted, I indicated that it would limit it to a handful of people and my comments were only that... comments about what is probably a deviation from what most people would play. Again, like I said, I even know a couple of people that would play it but it certainly wouldn't be my cup of tea. That's what is so great about games. So many genres and so many types of variations that there is something for everyone.

Personally, I hope dee99 finds a niche with his game.

I am aming to make it require more skill to beat, but with still random unexpected events to spice it up, i have already designed lvl three, it will introduce enemies and you will need expert timing.

I understood, the fact is that the niche is pretty big :D And competition in this genre isn't that much.

For the jump dee99, if it can help you, when jump is pressed just change the motion linear velocity Y to a desired value. That way, the cube will jump, then it will slowly decellerate due to the gravity (or the accelleration down behaviour) and then it will fall.
To check when jump is possible (e.g. only when the player is touching the ground), just use what you're using now, it seems to work pretty well :D

@dee99 I would have to agree with Rattlehead I'm a gamer and I tried it out it was a bit frustrating not knowing where things where going to pop up from, maybe you could take a look into this. I know your aiming at making a game that is near impossible to beat but remember that people playing the game will only play it for a short time people on there way to work and stuff. Good luck with it thought.

I am using move blocks for all movement, but I will try what you say and see if it works.

*news* I am currently making a background story to give the game a personal touch. I may end up redoing all levels to match the story, but gameplay will remain at the same.

Are there any other games like this on the app store?
