promotion thoughts?

any thought on the best advertising method for getting an app "out there"?

I have a feeling fart apps will have a limited audience. Not sure if a lot of external advertising or promotion will help sales much. Just make sure your search terms are accurate. If people want a fart app...they will search "fart". In your case...they will see you when they also search
"doodle"...which should be good since its the most search term on the app store.

At least this one has additional content, including a fart matching game. I don't think fart apps like this one are quite what apple will be screening.

No problem, the game (or app I suppose) looks very pollished, and while I haven't downloaded any fart apps it looks as though it could be the best on the store.

How have your sales been thus far if you don't mind me asking?

Here's what Apple said,
"We have over 250,000 apps in the App Store. We don't need any more Fart apps. If your app doesn't do something useful or provide some form of lasting entertainment, it may not be accepted."

I think its pretty clear that from the screen shots alone this is way more than just a simple fart app. It looks like it could take hours just to go through all the possible combinations of farts and then theres a matching game on top of that. Thats where the lasting entertainment comes in. (If your into that, which there are tons of people into that). I'm pretty sure even Apple can appreciate and realize that this is not just some "crap" an idiot threw together to impress his friends.

The art has nothing to do with the whole package. Now your pissed that its a Doodle App too? The fact is he made a very in depth fart app. a hell of a lot more than just "touch the screen and hear a fart" I think it's Bull !@#$% of you to label someones app "crap" just because you think theres enough of those on the app store. Your giving him no credit for the amount of work and thought he put into this to make it more than just another fart app. If you don't like fart apps then don't search for them and don't buy them.
