Afterburn (Sneak Peek)

Hey guys, been really busy lately with high school and college classes, but I've been working on a couple different projects and this is one of them! I expect to release a couple more soon also so stay tuned!

This is Afterburn:

Its basically a old school hockey game with polish and new age graphics.

Some cool things to consider:

+Multiple variations of the Ai for casual to hardcore players.
+Multiple themes
+A wide variation of settings and even more to come!
+2 player mode! Of course!
+Built in One scene for loading convenience!
+And much more!
+Stay tuned for the iPad version!
+I think this is the most polished GS Air Hockey game made yet. (Although thats not as spectacular as it sounds) Although ultimately, you guys will be making that decision!

*These are not the 100% finalized graphics and or gameplay. If you have any suggestions comments or questions, please let me know. :)

Edit: The images look kind of choppy. Its because their still though, it looks alot better in motion. :)

    Hey looking good so far. I know you said the graphics are not final, but I would work on the title screen. Afterburn title is hard to read. Let me know if you need a hand with it, i'm not too bad in photoshop.

    oooh! Is that a big 'Pause' button on the main screen? :D

    Why not include an options screen for music volume or on/off-ness and maybe sound effect volume?

    *The collision of the puck needs to be adjusted and a couple of other minor bugs, but thats basically it.

    Any chance you could put some 'ghosting' on the puck - just to give it a cool sense of movement (if it leaves a trail I mean!).

    Also, I found that the menu was a little confusing as it appears in portrait mode if you pause it or finish the game. I think it might be a good idea to keep the menus consistent!

    Still not totally sure what I'm going to do with it yet though. Should there be a animation? Some particle effects? Or do you think its fantastic the way it is? (I do)

    I've added "ghosting" still adding a "switch" to turn it on and off and correcting the sideways menus.

    Hey guys!

    Sorry, this should've been done a week ago, it really only needed two more hours. I've just wrapped it up though. I'll probably do all the beta testing tomorrow and then submit it tomorrow night. I had the worst week of my life last week though so I'm trying to move on. :/

    Anyway!

    Hi

    Just gave it a go. Seems good although I did hit a couple of problems.

    First one was that sometimes when I score the computer character did not restart the game, just sat there with the puck in his half. Happened twice in 4 games. Other issue was when the computer scored and I restart the game the puck does not go the way that I hit it. I wanted to hit left and even though I hit in exactly the right place it went right, this happened every time.

    Looks good though, I like the clean front page menu and the glowing ring characters. The particles are a little chunky, it does kinda get in the way of play.

    looking at your screen shots I see the particles are supposed to be round but the image for them has been cut square before it's reached the end of the glow.

    Thanks, Im not sure why. I've found that after booting up and force quitting and then restarting it, it doesn't have the problems. Maybe GS is failing to initialize some of the rules?

    I made an option to turn off all the particles and stuff. Maybe they should be off as default? It does save your settings though.

    Hey thanks. I basically just have a circle image and I'm using the particle spawner and I just transition and shrink the particles over time.

    I believe wayne has a demo of this.
