What's the maximum number of sounds playing? Polyphony

Is there a maximum?

Also, can a sound be stopped once it's playing before the end?

I think you'd have to play it as a music file to stop it... which would suck as then you couldn't have music...

I have 3 sounds play at same time but it can get muddy depending on if they don't compliment each other. If you do a button as when touch is pressed and play song it will play song but if you touch it again it will start over. I also noticed songs are a hair louder than if you used the same sound as sounds, probably due to compression. Ps I also tried playing the same song file with multiple buttons and it only played 1 instance of the song file

"one song, I have but one song..." Prince from Snow White?

I see, so I could use the tendency of a song to stop the previous one to stop it.

BUT what does that mean for " Looped" sounds? Do they NEVER stop, ever?

Looped means looped so unless you create a game attribute that changes based on button touches changing the attribute or timers it should play forever

sounds like a recipe for cacophony, if not careful ;-)
